LANGUAGE TESTING

OPI | ECL | ALCPT

DLIELC conducts English language proficiency testing using the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI), a face-to-face or telephonic interview, and the English Comprehension Level (ECL) test, a multiple choice test of listening and reading comprehension. (The ECL test is provided to authorized US Government users only.) DLIELC also makes available the American Language Course Placement Test (ALCPT) for English language programs conducted outside of DLIELC. Achievement testing of American Language Course (ALC) objectives is conducted using book quizzes and performance tests, which can be obtained with the course materials.
