DLIELC CATALOG
TheDefense Language Institute English Language Center (DLIELC) is responsible for the Department of Defense English Language Program. DLIELC consists of the resident and nonresident English Language programs. The resident program, conducted at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas, prepares international military and civilians, under the sponsorship of the Security Cooperation Training Program (SCTP), and US Army pre-basic students for entry into technical and professional training courses conducted by US military departments.
DLIELC is also responsible for providing English language training materials requisitioned by foreign military departments through SCTP channels. The American Language Course (ALC) materials are developed by DLIELC curriculum specialists. The materials can be obtained from DLIELC under provisions of the International Military Education and Training procedures, Foreign Military Sales, and private sector sales and US Federal Government Agencies sales can requisition these materials. The ALC materials are used to conduct both intensive and nonintensive English language training in foreign countries or at DLIELC. At DLIELC, small classrooms, equipped with the latest in training technology, are specifically designed to support student-centered instruction. In addition, the DLIELC curriculum meets the diverse needs of the adult military population with courses that address the specific language requirements of international military students' career fields.
